Certification of Youth in Entrepreneurship and ICT Training

The Ejura Sekyedumase Municipal Assembly with the Ghana Investment Fund for Electronic Communication (GIFEC) in collaboration with Cisco Systems, Inc., an international partner organized a 3 week ICT and Entrepreneurship training for Youths in the Municipality.

The training which commenced on the 13th of November 2023, saw the certification of its participants on the 6th of December, 2023 at the Municipal Assembly Hall. However, The Training took place at the Ejuraman Anglican SHS’s ICT Lab with a total number of 40 participants.

Beneficiaries of the training were made of Students, Seamstress or Tailors, Hawkers, Market women, unemployed youths and other category of youths who were comfortable in the use of smart phones as it was a basic requirement for the selection process. Participants were trained on how to make use the internet for gainful activities and also to be aware of the dangers it carries and how to go about some expected challenges that may occur.

They were also trained to take advantage of their social media accounts to advertise their works and how to best monetize their activities online. Emphasis were made on the importance of building quality network with people  and how handle customers or clients that patronize your services.

Participant were also trained on the concept of IoT (Internet of Things)  and on how smart gadget or devices have become part of our daily life activities. The types of smart devices we have currently, their usages and impact on how it enhances our life in this century, and the possible advantage and disadvantageous of solely relying on them.

At the end of the training, participants went through  and online assessment to determine the knowledge gained through out the exercise and to also provide certification by CISCO to successfully trainees.

Participants showed appreciation for the training as they confessed of its positive impact on their business and the enlightenment gained.
