List of Certified Food Vendors & Handlers of Within The Municipality

The food screening exercise was conducted in some larger communities within the Ejura-Sekyedumase Municipality to screen food vendors and handlers to ascertain their health status before allowing them to prepare, handle, sell and offer food for sale to the general public in order to ensure food safety and prevent food borne diseases in the Municipality.

The objective of the Food Vendors Screening Programme is to protect public health and ensure that wholesome food reaches the final consumer(s).

A total number of one thousand three hundred (1300) food vendors and handlers were medically screened by Modern View ultimate Diagnosis and Scan Center.

One thousand three hundred (1300) Food vendors were certified and issued food vendors certificates to carry out their operations under strict compliance to good food hygiene, environmental sanitation and personal hygiene to ensuring food safety and prevent food borne diseases. The food vendors were tested for Hepatitis B and Typhoid Fever.

Orientation For Food Vendors and Caterers On Nutrition – Report

Food vendors and caterers need the necessary knowledge and skills to know   some basic food nutrition. Periodic food vendor’s education and orientation gave the Environmental Health Officers the opportunity to also interrupt with food vendors on the need to prepare nutritious diet for customers and the students under the school feeding programme.

Nutritious diet is a food that contains all the food nutrients the body needs to function properly. The food nutrients included carbohydrate, protein, fat and oil, vegetables and vitamins etc.

The target group for this orientation included, food vendors, school feeding contractors (caterers), cooks, food handlers, chop bars and restaurants operators. The orientation covered the entire Ejura-Sekyedumase Municipality.

591 food Vendors and 62 School Feeding Programme Contractors on 26th October, 2022 were taken through some orientation at community center on the following topics;

  • Balance Diet
  • Adulteration of Food
  • Food poisoning
  • Food hygiene
  • Food preservation
  • Fortification of Food
  • Good hygiene and clean hands
  • Prevention and control of vitamin A deficiency

List of Approved Food Vendors & Handlers of Within The Municipality

The Environmental Health Department of the Ejura Skyeredumase Municipal Assembly has obtained a List of Certified Food Vendors and Handlers within the Municipality through a Food Screening Exercise Conducted.

The Exercise was to ascertain the Health Status of Food Vendors and Handlers before allowing them to Prepare, Sell and offer Food for sale to the general public. This is to ensure the quality and safety of food in order to prevent food borne diseases such as Cholera, Typhoid, Fever and the rest.

793 food Vendors and Handlers were certified through the Exercise and were issued Food Vendors Certificates to allow them carryout their operations accordingly, under the strict compliance to good food hygiene, Environmental sanitation and personal hygiene. This is to ensure and guarantee the quality of food giving or sold to the final consumer.
