MCE Presents Goods and Logistics to PWDs

The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Ejura-Sekyedumase Municipal Assembly, Hon. Dr. Kingsley Osei, on 15th September, 2022, presented some packages, goods and logistics to the People with Disability (PWD) within the Municipality at the forecourt of the Assembly.

In a brief ceremony to hand over the items to the beneficiaries, the Municipal Chief Executive confided that the NPP Government led by His Excellency Nana Addo Danquah Akuffo Addo had plans for both the less privilege and the vulnerable.  He added that, it had motivated the government to periodically come to the aid of the PWDs as he wants all and sundry to enjoy life to the fullest.

He advised the beneficiaries to take very good care of the items received, he caution them to avoid mismanagement, misuse as well as extravagance, so they can make a daily living with it.

Sixty-one (61) PWDs benefited from the distributed items. Fifteen (15) received income generating support, eight (8) were given educational support and three (3) were given medical support.

Earlier in the day, the PWDs who attended the programme were taken through capacity building skills. The training included Mushroom production, liquid soap production, disinfectant production, Chlorine bleach and after wash production.

In an interview with the Social Welfare and Community Development Boss, there was an interaction with the beneficiaries to identify their needs and base on that they were granted the necessary support.

Persons with disabilities who benefited from the distribution rendered an uncommon appreciation to the government and the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Dr. Kingsley Osei  for the support and promised to take very good care of the items as advised by the Municipal Chief Executive.
