The NPP Government had keen interest in Agricultural Activities and had devoted much into it. This statement was made by the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Hon. Dr. Kingsley Osei when he addressed the people present at the occasion.

He said the distribution of the mango seedlings to farmers was part of the president’s initiative of Planting for Export and Rural Development (PERD).  He added that most farmers were of the view that Coco and Cashew were the only cash crops which he retaliate.

Hon. Dr. Kingsley Osei emphasized that this is the third time within the year that the president, His Excellency Nana Addo Danquah Akuffo Addo had distributed seedlings to farmers.

Hon. Dr. Osei further stated that Animal Rearing farmers also had some incentives.  He said the farmers were given some farm animals to start production with, after they had breeded, then the number given to them are collected and given to another farmer to start production with and it continues.

The Municipal Agric Director, Mr. Ben Leo Ada, earlier in his address disclosed that Ejura and its surrounding Districts were given 50,000 mango seedlings and since Ejura is the major farming community, it had been given 30,000 and the remaining districts thus Mampong, Nsuta, Kumawu and Agona would share the remaining 20,000.
