Election of Presiding Member; Hon. Frank Appiagye

The term of office of the Presiding Member, Hon. Frank Appiagye had expired and an election had to be conducted to elect a new one.

An Assembly meeting was held on two different occasions before the incumbent (Hon. Frank Appiagye) was elected to serve on another term.

The first election was held on Wednesday 26th October, 2022 at the Assembly Hall.

Nana Appiagyei Frank was competed by Mahama Nuhu, Assembly Member for Nokwareasa. At the end of the election, sixty – three (63) votes were casted

• Nana Appiagyei Frank had 33 votes
• Mahama Nuhu had 29 votes
• One spoilt ballot paper

Therefore none of the two candidates had the two-thirds (2/3) votes hence no PM was elected.

The election was supervised by the Municipal Electoral Officer, Ms. Faustina Wiafe and her team.

On Thursday 27th October, 2022, Nana Appiagye Frank stood alone and he was voted for as the Presiding Member of the Assembly.  He thanked Hon. Assembly Members for the trust vested in him and assured them that he will not disappoint them.
