Budget Unit Organizes Budget Committee Meeting

The Budget Committee of the Ejura Sekyedumase Municipal Assembly held one of their mandated meetings on July 25, 2024, at the Assembly’s common hall. The meeting was led by the Municipal Budget Officer, Mr. Bismark Osei Tutu, and supported by staff from his unit.

Staff members from various departments and units, such as Finance, Revenue, Human Resources, MIS, Development Planning, Works, Urban Roads, Procurement & Stores, Social Welfare & Community Development, Physical Planning, Agriculture, and many more, were in attendance.

During the meeting, the proposed fees, rates, and licenses to aid in revenue generation and mobilization were considered and deliberated on. Various suggestions were made by staff members based on their experience and the reality on the ground, which was necessary to arrive at a near-accurate fee-fixing resolution.

A resolution was passed to review the activities of the Assembly’s revenue collectors to identify their challenges and determine what could be done to improve them. Committee members were also encouraged to come up with innovative ideas to aid in revenue mobilization and collection.
