VP Cuts Sod for Agenda III Project in Ejura
The Vice President, His Excellency Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia today 18th July, 2023, paid official visit to the Municipality to cut sod for the commencement of Agenda 111 project in the Municipality. In a brief but colorful ceremony, the vice president said, since Independence, the country lacks hospitals to take very good care of its citizenry.
That had motivated the NPP Government led by His Excellency, Nana Addo Danquah Akuffo Addo introduced Agenda 111project to construct 101 District hospitals in areas without hospital, six Regional hospitals in the newly created Regions, two psychiatric hospitals in Kumasi and Tamale and one general hospital in the Western Region”.
Dr. Bawumia said government has secured 100 million Dollars funds for this project and it would be completed within 18months. He added that since the NPP Government had excessive interest in the health of its citizens, the service delivery at the health facilities had been improved by introducing 1 Constituency, 1 Ambulance, Digitization of hospitals; he assured members that by the end of the year 2024, over 2000 hospitals will be networked.
He further elaborated that National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) had been digitalize and one can enjoy the services of the facility at his comfort zone, he stated that Drones are also introduced to send medicine anytime and anywhere. There was also the introduction of E-pharmacy which makes the purchasing of drugs very easy.
Ejurahene, Barima Osei Hwedie II, on his part commended the vice president for his immerse support for the Municipal. He counted several supports the Municipality had received from him including, construction of water project and Police Division, which very soon it will be commissioned, among others.
Nana added that as Oliver Twist “We want more”. He pleaded with the Vice President to assist with the construction of ultra-modern stadium for the Municipality and asked that the dignitaries who accompanied him for the sod cutting to support with 18 air conditioners for the newly constructed Police Post.
Dignitaries that were present to grace the occasion were Nananom from the Ejura Traditional Council, Muslim Chiefs in the Municipality, Heads of Department, Party folks from both the Region and the District, among others.
