Vice President and National Chief Imam Visits Ejura

The Vice President of the Republic of Ghana, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and the National Chief Imam, Shaike Osmanu Nuhu Sharubutu on 2nd July 2021 paid a courtesy to the people of Ejura.

Their visit was due to the happenings in the Ejura Community.  They came with the Minister for National Security, Hon. Albert Kan-Dapaah, Ashanti Regional Minister, Hon. Simon Osei Mensah, Ashanti Regional Chief Imam, Shaike Abdul Mumin Haroun and prominent people in the Muslim Communities nationwide.

The Chief’s palace was the entourages first point of contact, the Omanhene of the Ejura Traditional Council, Barima Osei Hwedie II in his welcome address pleaded with the vice President that his area of Jurisdiction needed a Military camp and his outfit was ever ready to render the needed support to make their request a reality.

The vice president in response said upon the happenings in the Municipality that had led to their visit, no doubt that the Municipality needed a Military Camp and he pledged 1000bags of cement and an amount of GH¢10000 into the construction.  The Chief Imam and his followers added 500 bags of cement.

The Team further proceeded the the bereaved families to express their condolence which after an undisclosed amount was given to them.  The families of the injured where also met at the central mosque.  They were also given undisclosed amount each and word of exaltation.

Kaaka, 45, born Mohammed Iddrisu died on June 28, 2021 at Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital after he was ambushed near his house while he was returning on his motorbike on June 26, 2021.
