Regional Minister Tours and Commissions Completed Projects Within The Municipality

The Ashanti Regional Minister, Hon. Simon Osei Mensah commissioned four (4) completed school projects in the Municipality.  These included 1 Storey, 12 Unit classroom block with office and store at Anyinasu, 1 No. Six Unit Classroom block with ICT Center at Nyamebekyere, 1 No. Six unit classroom block at T.I. Ahmadiyya school and 1 Storey girls Dormitory at Ejuraman SHS.

The brief but colourful commissioning was held under four different ceremonies on Thursday 16th February, 2023.

The Regional Minister commended the NPP Government led by His Excellency, Nana Addo Danquah Akuffo Addo for their good intention towards education in the country.  He said the free SHS was there to help all to have the secondary education at ease.  He cited that during his school going stage, he did not have the privilege like now and it was GH¢40 that his uncle gave him that changed his life for the best.

He advised management of the schools to take very good care of the facilities given them.  He urged the students not to use riot to present their request to authorities but rather use the right channel to make their plea known to the school authority.

The Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Dr. Kingsley Osei, on his part commended the President of the Republic, the Vice President and the entire NPP Government for the good measures put in place to ensure effective education in the country.  He said it was due to that reason that the Busy scheduled Regional Minister had visited the Municipality for the commissioning of the completed projects for use.

Nananom, the Municipal Education Director and the Heads of the schools made known to the Regional Minister and the MCE their pleas.  At Nana Awoba II Secondary Technical School, Anyinasu, they request for boarding status, teacher’s bungalow, extension of electricity and water to the school, construction of the poor road leading from Aframso to Anyinasu community and the school and the road from Anyinasu to Kofiase should also be constructed.

The Headmaster of Nyamebekyere M/A Primary said they need toilet facility as the children cross the main street to the other side of the road to ease themselves in the bush and they were mostly knocked down by cars.

The Headmistress of Ejuraman Senior High School, said the collapsed of the multipurpose dining hall had affected the school so much and he pleads with government to fix it within the shortest possible time.  She said not only the dining hall was destroyed by the rain storm but bore hole with a poly tank distributing water to the entire school was destroyed, a double door freezer, a PA system, a generator, among others were all destroyed and she pleads with the Assembly and the Government to come to their aid.

The Regional Minister in his address responded to all the pleas. He said the road leading from Aframso through to Sekyedumase to Anyinasu will be constructed including the road from Kofiase to Anyinasu. Also, the request for Boarding House status of Nana Awoba II school would be considered. He added that he would personally buy mower for the school.

The Hon. Regional Minister said through the Director General of Education, the Contractor of Ejuraman Senior High School will fasten his work to complete it within the shortest possible time.
