The Municipal Chief Executive for Ejura Sekyedumase Municipal Assembly, Hon. (Dr.) Kingsley Osei commissions a CHPS Compounnd at Bonyo, on Wednesday 1st November, 2023. Dignitaries present to grace the occasion were Heads of Department, Bonyo Chief and his elders, Chiefs from the Muslim community, the contractor of Bonyo-Fakawa road, among others.
At a brief but colorful ceremony to officially commission the facility, the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. (Dr.) Kingsley Osei ceased the opportunity to thank his predecessor, Hon. Mohammed Salisu Bamba, former MCE of the Assembly, for starting the project. He said when he assumed office as the MCE, he decided to continue with the project started as it was going to save lives, he continued that it was his heart desire to continue with projects started by his predecessors that were half way through.
He cited that most leaders ignore such projects all in the name of fame. “why should I continue the project started by someone and at the end all the glory will be given to him”. He added. He commended all and sundry for the immerse support for the project.
The Chief of Bonyo, Nana Oti, who chaired the ceremony in his address, thanked the Municipal Chief Executive for completing such a laudable project to improve the health care of his people and the surrounding communities. He recalled; how sad he was, when one midnight, on his way from Kumasi, he met a pregnant woman in labour sitting on the bicycle of his husband. He said such incidence will be history if the facility is taken very good care of.
The Municipal Health Director, Mr. Courage Anku, assured that staff to work in the facility was ready. He said a mid-wife with the Grade of Principal level qualification was among the staff to work in the facility. He pleaded with stakeholders to assist the facility with bungalows; as that had been a challenge for workers in the Municipality.
During the Commissioning, a Philanthropist, dedicated hospital bed to the facility. Health Director seized the opportunity to inform all and sundry to support in taking very good care of the facility so as to meet its purpose.
After the commissioning of the CHPS Compound, MCE and the dignitaries cut sod for the construction of Bonyo Fakawa road.
