Sod Cutting for the Construction of a 6-Unit Classroom, Dormitory and others at Sekyedumase
The Municipal Chief Executive for Ejura-Sekyedumase, Alhaji Mohammed Salisu Bamba on Thursday March 7 2019 cut a sod for the construction of 6 unit classrooms block and boys dormitory for the Sekyedumase senior high school and a feasibility study for the construction of a CHPS Compound for Drobon/Krampong a suburb of Sekyedumase.
The 6 unit classroom block will also include a library, office and store, and the dormitory will also include 16 washrooms and 10 toilet facilities and is expected to be completed in six (6) months’ time.
Hon. Mohammed Salisu Bamba said the project is one of the projects earmarks this year by the assembly to provide infrastructural development to enhance quality education in the municipality, adding that, education is the number one priority of the Ghana Government and the assembly.
He hinted that, similar school project is ongoing at the Ejuraman Senior High, Ejura Agricultural College and Ejura Lorry Park almost completed, adding that, there are other ongoing projects which are expected to be complete before the end of the year.
Hon Mohammed Salisu Bamba, urged the pupils of the Sekyedumase senior high school to study hard and become good citizens in the Municipality; to borrow a phrase from the president “Be a citizen not a spectator”
Hon Bamba said furtherance, in making sure parents send their children to school, The Government of Ghana under the leadership of Nana Akufo-Addo has also absorbed the registration fees of Basic schools.
In attendance were some Assembly staff, staff from the Municipal Education Office, Chief from the Sekyedumase Traditional Council, Party Executives and many other dignitaries.
