Third Ordinary General Assembly Meeting; ESMA Calls
The Presiding Member (PM) of the Ejura Sekyedumase Municipal Assembly, Hon. Nana Appiagyei Frank, convened the Third Ordinary General Assembly meeting of the ninth Assembly on Tuesday, October 29, 2024. Held at the Municipal Assembly Hall, the meeting brought together key stakeholders to discuss and approve critical initiatives for the municipality.
The session began with opening remarks from Hon. Nana Appiagyei Frank, who welcomed participants and outlined the purpose of the assembly. The agenda included the discussion and approval of reports from the Executive Committee meeting, the 2025 fee-fixing resolution, review and endorsement of the 2025 Annual Action Plan and 2025 Composite Budget, and the reading and acceptance of previous minutes.
Engaging the house, the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Dr. Kingsley Osei, presented his address, outlining the municipality’s progress in infrastructure, socio-economic development, agriculture, health, education, and finance. He also announced that the Assembly would set up a committee to handle the works of the District Road Improvement Programme (DRIP) heavy machines and ensure fair distribution of road works to every electoral area.
A significant highlight of the meeting was the presentation of the Executive Committee Report by the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Hon. Dr. Kingsley Osei. Following the presentation, Assembly Members engaged in discussions to deliberate on the report and its implications for the development of the municipality.
Department and unit heads alternated in giving presentations on their work progress. Assessments and questions were asked to evaluate the presentations provided by the various heads on the status of their work.
The meeting concluded with closing remarks from the Hon. Presiding Member and the Hon. Municipal Chief Executive, both emphasizing the importance of collaboration and commitment to the growth of the municipality. The MCE thanked the house for their honest contributions to the discussions and encouraged members to be truthful in their revenue collection, stating that certain malicious acts drain the Assembly of huge sums of money.
In attendance were the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Dr. Kingsley Osei, the Municipal Coordinating Director (MCD), Louisa Benon (Mrs.), Assembly Members, Government Appointees, Unit Committee members, MUSEC members, Heads of Departments and Units of the Municipal Assembly, Media Representatives, and other staff of the Assembly. Their active participation highlighted the collective dedication to governance and the development of the municipality.
The successful conclusion of the meeting marked an important step in planning and implementing policies for 2025, ensuring sustainable development and improved service delivery for the residents of the municipality.
