ESMA Undertakes Sod-Cutting and Commissioning of Twelve (12) Development Projects Municipal-Wide

The Ejura-Sekyedumase Municipal Assembly is once again witnessing a surge in developmental projects across all sectors within its jurisdiction. In line with this renewed growth, the Municipal Assembly on the 18th February 2026, successfully carried out a sod-cutting and commissioning ceremony for twelve (12) development projects across several communities within the municipality.

The ceremony was led by the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Rafiu Adam Seidu, together with the Honourable Member of Parliament, Hon. Alhaji Bawah Muhammad Briamah. Also in attendance were the Municipal Coordinating Director, Mr. John Ayine Adongo, staff of the Municipal Assembly, the Municipal Education Office, the Municipal Health Directorate, Assembly Members, representatives of the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO), the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and party faithful.

The delegation visited and undertook activities in communities including Miminaso, Attakura, Samri Nkwanta, the Market Area, Ashakoko, and the Ejuraman Anglican School, among others. The projects were funded through a combination of the District Assemblies Common Fund (DACF), the Member of Parliament’s Common Fund, and Public-Private Partnership (PPP) arrangements, demonstrating the Assembly’s commitment to leveraging multiple funding sources to accelerate development as part of its broader agenda aimed at strengthening infrastructure, enhancing service delivery, and promoting socio-economic growth across the municipality.

During the ceremony, two completed projects were officially commissioned for immediate public use. These included a 22-seater WC toilet with a mechanized borehole, 12 lockable private bathrooms, 8 urinals, and 4 hand-wash sinks to serve both market traders and local residents; and a rehabilitated 1No. 3-unit classroom block with office, and store. These projects are expected to significantly improve public health, hygiene, and environmental sanitation within the community by providing modern sanitary conveniences, and access to education.

In his address, Hon. Rafiu Adam Seidu reiterated the Assembly’s commitment to implementing people-centered initiatives that directly address the needs of residents.

“These projects demonstrate our resolve to improve the living conditions of our people. We remain committed to ensuring equitable development across all communities within the municipality,”

he stated.

Hon. Alhaji Bawah Muhammad Briamah also reaffirmed his commitment to supporting the Assembly’s development agenda, emphasizing the importance of unity and cooperation in driving sustainable growth.

“Development is a shared responsibility. I will continue to collaborate with the Municipal Assembly to mobilize additional resources and attract more projects that will enhance the welfare of our people,”

the MP assured.

The Municipal Chief Executive and the Honourable Member of Parliament also performed sod-cutting ceremonies for ten additional projects, namely:

  • Construction of a 1No. 3-unit classroom block at Miminaso
  • Construction of a 1No. 3-unit classroom block at Anyinaso
  • Construction of a 1No. 3-unit classroom block at Kwasiakan
  • Construction of a CHPS compound at Attakura No.2
  • Construction of a CHPS compound at Kantankani
  • Construction of a CHPS compound at Ajamasu
  • Construction of a CHPS compound at Fameshebabi
  • Construction of a Sickbay at Ejuraman Anglican SHS
  • Construction of 12-seater WC toilet with mechanised borehole at Ashakoko
  • Drilling and mechanisation of 15No. Boreholes at 15 selected Communities

The Municipal Chief Executive and the Honourable Member of Parliament assured residents that contractors have been duly engaged, and that effective monitoring and supervision mechanisms have been instituted to ensure quality execution and timely completion of the projects.

Traditional authorities and community members expressed profound appreciation to the Municipal Chief Executive, the Member of Parliament, and the Assembly for their visionary leadership and collaborative efforts in bringing development closer to the people. They pledged their unwavering support in safeguarding the facilities to ensure sustainability and long-term benefit to the municipality and its people.

The sod-cutting and commissioning of these projects marks a significant milestone in the Ejura-Sekyedumase Municipal Assembly’s development journey. The event underscores the Assembly’s unwavering commitment to inclusive growth, improved infrastructure, and enhanced living standards for residents.
