A Municipal Chief Executive (M.C.E) is an appointed public servant who heads a Municipal in Ghana. It is an official and nationally recognized position and is similar to that of a mayor of a city in other countries. The responsibilities and duties of a Chief Executive are enshrined in the Constitution of Ghana. some of the responsibilities are:
- to preside at meetings of the Executive Committee of the Assembly;
- be responsible for the day-to-day performance of the executive and administrative functions of the Municipal Assembly; and
- be the chief representative of the Central Government in the Municipal.
Hon. Mohammed Salisu Bamba is the 8th Chief Executive of the Ejura-Sekyedumase Municipality. He was sworn in on May 11th 2017.
Born on the 17th of September 1975, Hon. Salisu Bamba is a father and a husband with two children. He hails from Yendi in the Northern Region of Ghana but is a proud resident of Ejura in the Ashanti Region.
Hon. Salisu Bamba is a graduate from the University of Ghana with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and History. He is an accomplished businessman and holds the position of a Director in Bambros Investments, Kumasi. He is also a business consultant by profession.
Hon. Bamba has had the opportunity to serve the constituency as a Member of Parliament (M.P) from the year 2012 to 2016. In his role as a Member of Parliament, he severed on the House committee and the Lands & Forestry committee.
Whiles an M.P, Hon. Bamba saw to the successful completion of several health, education, economic, social and community development projects. Just to mention a few, the construction of satellite markets at Abota and Dromankuma, CHPS compounds at Sarki Kura and other communities, an Emergency unit at the Ejura Gov. hospital, and securing of an ambulance to the Ejura -Sekyedumase Health Directorate.
