Hon. Dr. Kingsley Osei Visits Ejuraman Anglican SHS; Assess Natural Disaster

In the wake of the disaster caused by a heavy downpour, Hon. Dr. Kingsley Osei; MCE, paid a visit to the Ejuraman Anglican Senior High School to ascertain first hand the level of damages caused.

The Municipal Chief Executive was in the company of staffs from the NAMDO office, Municipal Education Directorate and the Municipal Assembly.

The MCE firstly visited the disaster scene; the school’s dining hall which had its roof ripped off with some structure caving in and the Kitchen which was also caught up in the destruction.

He took a tour of the hall and afterward had interactions with the kitchen staffs where he assured them of the Government and the Assembly support to get things back to normalcy as soon as possible. He also asked them to make it a priority to visit the hospital for clinical evaluation as such disaster can cause unforeseen traumas and the likes.

Secondly, He met with the students and assured them that the situation was under control and that their injured were being taking care of adequately. He also cautioned on the spread of unverified news as it goes in a long way to cause fear and panic to the general public and also to be responsible with their use social media. In all a little over fifty (50) students were injured but with most of them responding to treatment.

Lastly, the Hon. MCE also had an interaction with the teachers, where he praised them for their courage and efforts displayed to help mitigate the issue when it happened; as this and all, led to no loss of life.

He also tasked them to constantly engage with the affected students as this necessary to check any psychological defect or traumas being caused by this disaster. He also promised them the Assembly’s support to help the school recovery quickly.

The Hon. MCE had previously visited some injured students at the Ejura Government Hospital and offered them words of encouragement as well as congratulated them on their courage in the face of danger. He also tasked the hospital staff to give utmost care to the admitted students.
